What a year and What a January!! Hello 2025!

Let’s see, its been awhile….. I was in a few shows this past year in Seattle and in NYC, which is such an honor and so exciting. I had an amazing Crit group through the Canopy program/NYC Crit Club with the awesome artist Matt Phillips. There were down moments and Great moments, ( ahh being an artist, a parent, a human!) I learned so much about my work and myself. I also applied to some residencies and was rejected many times, BUT I was accepted to Anderson Ranch for their Studio Sessions in January. YAY! I spent 2 1/2 weeks there working on a new project and a new painting. It was incredible. I love the group of people there! Lindsey Yeager and Liz Ferrill along with all the other dedicated artists that were present was simply incredible. Here is a peak at the painting I started there , though it is still in process and currently in my studio. The project is still in its early infancy, so once its further along I will let you know.

I am playing with new tools, a different approach and a slightly different process, Not sure if it will work, and its not there yet, but these moments are interesting to me ….will they stay intact?…… we will see what the painting wants.

Next post I want to talk about process…….lets see if I can pull myself away from painting to post about it!
